I just want to buy Throw Pillows

Pillows! Who doesn’t love a good throw pillow? Though our apartment is far from finished, one of the main areas I want to level up is our living room. As a couple that spends a majority of our time in the living room on the couch it’s in dire need of some color. With gray floors, a gray couch, and the impending Seattle gray sky season (winter) It needs some warmth ASAP. While a rug could do this, my cat will occasionally go rogue and go potty in places she shouldn’t. Rugs are her favorite place to do this and so buying a new one that may or may not be ruined is not high on my list. But pillows, Pillows I can do. So of course I’ve been obsessing over throw pillows. The main color theme for our kitchen/living room/dining room is Green, Gray, and Blue. So I’ve been perusing the internet looking for some cute pillows to infuse some color into our living room.

What We’re Working With:

All the gray.

Our TV stand right now. Eventually we will up grade it, but for now it is this.

Inspiration:

As much as I’d like to say my taste is unique and original, I too have fallen in love with the trendy bohemian decor style. This style has given me a ton of inspiration for my living room, especially when it comes to pillows. With lot of beautiful colors, textures, and pattern it’s just what my living room needs. Thus the bohemian living room’s of some of my favorite instagrammers have been keeping me jonesing to add some bohemian style. Below are some of my favorite Insta Inspo posts.

What I’m Drooling Over:

Will I actually get nine pillows? Probably not. While I love all of them that does seem a little excessive even on a sectional, but who knows. The only pillow below that I actually own is #2 the Target tufted Moroccan blanket style pillow. I got it on sale during their competing Amazon Prime Day sale. I’m not 100% which pillows and styles I’ll actually end up with but as you can see my vision is to mix textures and colors but keep them all relatively in the same color way. I definitely want at least one mudcloth pillow and probably a faux leather pillow as well. I became obsessed with mudcloth after I saw some being sold at a local Saturday market and am 100% sure I need some in my life ASAP.  I’ll probably just slowly acquire the pillows and see how they’re working together. Pillows are really expensive so this is definitely going to be a slow accumulation. Anyway, below are some of the pillows I want to spend all my money on.

  1. Aloe Place Studio / 2. Target Tufted Oversize Square Pillow / 3. West Elm Mongolian Lamb pillow cover / 4. One Affirmation Faux Leather Pillow /       5.  Nomad Cloth Mustard Mudcloth Pillow Cover / 6.  DK Renewal Kilim Pillow (similar)   / 7. Urban Outfitters Palm Pillow (currently unavailable) /  8. One Affirmation Green Velvet Pillow   /  9. DK Renewal Green Cactus Silk Pillow /

Empty Apartment Mini Tour

I don’t have many pictures of our empty apartment, most of them are just pictures I took for context while furniture shopping. But I figured I’d share what I have and then I’ll show you guys all of the nooks and crannies as rooms get decorated.

Livingroom:

Our Apartment is basically a long rectangle. We have an open Kitchen/livingroom with laminate floor and ends in a balcony. We don’t have the best view. Our apartment is in kind of a weird part of Bellevue, or “middle of nowhere Bellevue” as one of my boyfriends co-workers put it. Which at first I was like “Hey!” but I have now embraced since it’s pretty true. lol. The best part of our view though is we look over a little park where people in our complex go to walk/ bring there dogs so they can go to the bathroom. Basically we get to gawk and dogs all the time, major plus. And since our apartment doesn’t have AC it will be nice to get some air from the balcony when temps rise in the summer.

Kitchen/ Dining Room:

There are a couple different color schemes in our complex, we have the neutral color scheme. This means we have a sort of light tan “wood” bottom kitchen cabinets, white uppers, grey backsplash and gray quartz countertops. The floors are kind of a gray /blue /brown color which you can’t really see in the pictures. It isn’t my favorite floor color, I wouldn’t necessarily have picked it,  but they’ve grown on me and they hide a lot of dirt.

Bedroom:

The Bedroom and closet both have carpet. There’s nothing particularly interesting about either space. But, you know, they’re nice and pretty big.  Most importantly it fits my beloved Broyhill Brasilia dresser which you’ll see in later posts.

As I’ve said before this apartment isn’t really my style but I do like it. It’s kinda cool to live in a space so outside my usual style and make it a space all our own.
